Every month, The Grove Project has made the commitment to conduct water quality monitoring tests at a local body of water here in South Florida, Little Lake Worth Lagoon. As a proud EarthEcho International Water Challenge Ambassador, we are excited to share August 2019's results below:
Air Temperature: 91°F
Water Temperature: 90°F
pH Level: 8.5
Turbidity: 40 JTU
Dissolved Oxygen: 8 ppm
Percent Saturation of Oxygen: 108%
Detailed Explanation:
As it is still summer in sunny south Florida, the air temperature and water temperature remain high. Today's dissolved oxygen reading raised to 8 ppm, the highest recorded at Lake Worth Lagoon so far. This meant that the percent saturation of oxygen at the water temperature of 90°F was 108%. DO Percent Saturation values of 80-120 % are considered to be excellent in supporting marine life. The turbidity, or the clarity of the water, remains at 40 JTU. The pH has remained at a fairly constant state of around 8.5.
